I think tree bark is more beautiful than wood-grain. Wood has become common place in our human world. It’s in our homes (and if we’re lucky) in our offices: floors, cabinets, chairs, etc. Wood is a tree that has been tamed.
Bark, on the other hand, is the wild essence of trees. Bark sings to us of forests and mountains and quiet wooded glens with streams running through. Here’s a collection of bark from my neighborhood walk through the local cemetery here in Beloit, Wisconsin! I hope it brings a little bit of wildness back into your computer-dominated Tuesday 😀
