Autumn is a beautiful time of year in Wisconsin. But, of course, that means winter (blech!) will be close on it’s heels. Now I know plenty of you probably love winter. The crisp air, the pretty snow, etc. That’s a beautiful thing, but I don’t like winter, I hate being cold and I won’t apologize for it. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy this sweater/scarf/hat weather and gather these leaf moments while they last.
Wisconsin doesn’t get a lot of “perfect” fall foliage, but I far prefer the complex colors and wabi-sabi feeling that our struggling trees can produce. Fall is all about the beauty of loss…change and rebirth, baby, that’s what it’s all about!!
(Fun fact: where I live in southern Wisconsin, the native flora was Oak Savannah = great swaths of prairie with towering oak and hickory trees wading through it!)
