Really, the most exciting part of this sculpture is yet to come. I’ve never done a pit-fire, so this is going to be a big learning adventure 😀 Pit-fired clay generally comes out with smoky, black markings and (hopefully) reddish/peach blushes. My greatest hope is that nothing breaks because this thing is really cool and my time in Mexico is limited, we’ve been here 3 weeks already!
I still need to burnish some of them and I need to dig a hole… we have firewood on hand, so that’s no problem. And I need to gather courage. One always needs plenty of courage when doing something new!
Coming soon to my private Patreon feed, a sneak peek of some ink/mandala/animal paintings I’ve started making. “Visions of Power” are a good way to gather courage!
In the meantime, would you help amplify the natural beauty I bring into your life and pledge $1/month to my Patreon campaign? You’ll get access to my private posts for Patreon patrons where I go deeper in to the reasons why I make this nature art.
Wishing you a week full of chickadee calls,
Jenny
