Instead of bringing fall leaves home, now we take pictures!
I used to end autumn walks with a handful of leaves
and now I end them with a phone camera full of leaf pictures. I think it’s a good example of how technology can move us in an eco-conscious direction.
Why clutter up the house with leaf objects
when you can take a picture and leave the leaf to return to the earth and then to the tree? Of course, when I discard this phone I’ll be making a bigger impact than those handfuls of saved leaves. Tricky, tricky.
Then again, with my new capacity for sharing leaf pictures
with the whole world through my Instagram feed maybe I’ll be inspiring more people to wake up to the wonder of the natural world and that could have a humongous impact!
Yep, life is complex.
Complex and wondrous! So, I’ll keep taking pictures and look forward to the day when I’ll be able to help little Brian make a leaf collection!! About 5 more weeks ’till this new baby comes out to play and I’m about to start a class on selling wholesale, so my communication may get a bit spotty for a while.
