Not only did my new website just go live (YAY!!) but this weekend, we started ripping apart our “finished” basement to turn it into the new home of Authentic Arts!
You thought I already had a gorgeous art studio?
Not quite! For 5 years, I’ve been creating jewelry, blogging, dreaming, and scheming from the edges of our dining room. If you think it must be cluttered in here, then you are right!
When we moved into this house, the basement was supposedly finished, but one winter of frozen pipes told us the basement must not be as warm as we were led to believe. That on top of shorted out electrical receptacles and a moist carpet that they laid directly onto the cement basement floor meant we’d have to tear it all out and do it again. Unfortunately.
Fortunately, my husband and his brothers are whiz bang do-it-yourselfers!
So I know the project will be done right and for a reasonable price 😉 Two days into the construction project and they’ve already torn out half the walls and drop-down ceiling.
I’m already dreaming of working to the snap and crackle of a little woodstove on cool autumn evenings! The adventure continues 😀
